The versatile artist from Nijmegen, Antoon Heymans, created the MH17 monument in Eindhoven at the age of 92.

This painting is much older; I suspect the 1940s/1950s. It is painted on hardboard, which gives it a distinctive natural texture. It makes the work lively, almost tangible. Unmistakably influenced by the Hague School, but also by Van Gogh.
Simple yet effective in its framing.

De Nijmeegse veelzijdige kunstenaar Antoon Heymans maakte op 92-jarige leeftijd het MH17 monument in Eindhoven. 

Dit schilderij is heel veel ouder, ik vermoed jaren40/50. Het is op zachtboard geschilderd waardoor het een bijzondere natuurlijke structuur  heeft. Maakt het werk levendig, bijna tastbaar. Onmiskenbaar beïnvloed door de Haagse School maar ook beïnvloed door Van Gogh. 
Eenvoudig  maar doeltreffend ingelijst.
