Compass Box Duality is a rare and innovative limited-edition blended malt whisky that marks the first collaboration between the renowned London-based whisky maker Compass Box and the award-winning Bimber Distillery. Released in 2023, this exceptional expression combines the best of traditional Scottish whisky craftsmanship with the creativity of modern English distilling.
The recipe marries heavily peated Islay malt whisky—primarily from Ardbeg (including a small proportion of teaspooned Caol Ila)—with Pedro Ximénez sherry cask-matured Bimber single malt. The result is a remarkably balanced whisky, where intense peat smoke meets rich sherried sweetness and vibrant fruit character.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Dense peat smoke, salted caramel, dark raisins, tropical fruit, honey, and citrus zest.
Palate: Full-bodied and complex, offering layers of smoky oak, ripe mango, cherries, dried fruits, toffee, sea salt, and warming spice.
Finish: Long, rich, and elegant, with lingering ash, honey, blackcurrant, tropical fruit, and gentle maritime notes.
