Description
A charming pair of hand-painted miniature portraits depicting elegant ladies in 18th-century Rococo / Louis XVI style attire. The miniatures are painted on ivorine (faux ivory / ivory substitute) with delicate shading and fine details.
The left portrait is signed “Okar”; the right portrait bears a signature that is difficult to read (see photos). Both are housed in richly decorated gilt metal frames with embossed and pierced ornamentation. The reverse of each frame is marked “brevettato”, indicating a patented Italian frame design/structure.
