A French hand-hammered copper umbrella stand with brass trim and a brass handle, dating to 1910–1920 and 1930–1940, in good condition with dimensions: height 60 cm, top width 42 cm, base diameter 22 cm.
Description from the seller
An impressive antique French umbrella stand crafted from hand-hammered copper with brass accents, dating from the early 20th century (circa 1900–1930).
This decorative piece features beautifully executed repoussé (embossed) relief scenes on both sides. One side depicts two children in a rural setting with baskets of fruit, while the reverse shows a lively interior scene of figures gathered around a table. The finely detailed scenes, combined with the hammered copper surface and elegant proportions, make this both a functional and highly decorative statement piece.
The sturdy swing handle and flared form reflect traditional French craftsmanship, making it ideal for use as an umbrella stand, walking stick holder, or as an eye-catching decorative object in a hallway or entrance.
Condition
Very good antique condition with an attractive, age-related patina. Minor signs of wear consistent with age and use. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
