Description: selling here is an Imperial German Reichskriegsflagge from the Kaiserreich era WWI, Produced in cotton and measuring 61 × 90 cm. This example features the classic black cross, the Imperial eagle with crown, sword, and orb, and the Iron Cross in the upper canton.

Typically these flags were much larger when flown on ships. But actually the smaller command‑size flags like this are less common and highly desirable among collectors. Easy to display without taking up to much space.

Provenance: This flag comes from a family collection... It was passed down from a relative whose great‑grandfather served in the Imperial German Navy during the war. The flag was stored for decades in an old suitcase in the attic alongside other personal belongings from his service. Was handed to me and I have kept it ever since. I would love to see it go to a new home where it will be appreciated and displayed fully for its historical value. Minus a few holes for its age it is in great condition.

Condition: I ask buyers to take close attention to the images supplied for a full reference the flag is made of cotton fabric with visible age related patina. Light staining and small period tears consistent with long-term storage. Colours remain strong. Stitching and emblem details intact. No signed of mould.
