Description from the seller
Lalique “Biches” Crystal Vase – France
Designed by René Lalique in 1932 (model 1082), later production
Beautiful clear and frosted crystal vase by Lalique, featuring the classic “Biches” (Does / Hinds) design. The entire body is decorated in high relief with elegant female deer standing and grazing among dense foliage and trees. The motif is rendered in soft satin-frosted glass against a clearer background, creating a luminous, sculptural effect typical of Lalique’s Art Deco style.
The vase has a softly rounded, slightly tapering form with a short cylindrical neck and a modest foot.
Measurements
Height: 16 cm
Maximum width: 12.5 cm
Rim opening: 7 cm
Base diameter: 7.5 cm
Mark
Etched on the underside: Lalique France
The “Biches” model was originally created by René Lalique in 1932 and has remained one of the most iconic and enduring designs in the Lalique repertoire. This example is a post-war production of the celebrated pattern.
Condition
The underside of the base shows some tiny scratches, along with two slightly deeper scratches (approximately 2 cm long and visible in the photographs). Inside the vase there is a light, unknown-coloured residual stain. It has been cleaned with plain water only; no chemical cleaners have been used in order to avoid any risk of damaging the crystal.
NOTE: For collectors who prefer a flawless appearance, any imperfections can be assessed and, if desired, professionally restored by a specialist experienced in working with this type of material.
Shipping: The item will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking. Insurance is included in the shipping fee. Any customs duties, taxes or import fees are the buyer's responsibility.
