Exquisitely made antique teapot a rococo revival design made of silverplate. The main body is bulbous and embellished with hand-chased floral bouquets, roses and stylised scrollwork panels. A highly detailed bird with open wings is perched atop the hinged lid serves as a decorative handle, with an ornate spout designed to resemble a stylised eagle or mythical birds head with a wide open beak (slight damage to left side) an old man intricate design at the base of the spout. Scrolled feet: heavy base rests neatly on four ornate cast, spreading foliage and scrollwork feet. A beautifully made fine quality item in great antique condition with only light wear to the silvering. Size: 18 x 27.5 x 16 cm, weight 764 g
