Raffia cloth - DR Congo

A very rare to find raffia cloth, made up of 5 pieces sewn together, No appliques are used here, as in the traditional production of raffia cloth, but it is decorated with different natural colours in a square design.
Each cloth has it,s own colouring, giving this item a very attractive appareance. This cloth was part of the large textile collection of the late artist Rob Aussen and was collected in the 1950-60,s. Lenght; 178 cm.
