• He began his career in 1940 in the photographic service of the newspaper L'Indépendant des Pyrénées-Orientales.
• With his wife, journalist Micheline Vialle, he founded the Ribière Presse Photos agency, whose reportage was published in numerous French and international media, such as Paris Match, L'Express, Keystone and the BBC.
• His work covers post-war France, everyday life, regional traditions, sporting events and courtroom reportage.
• He also held the position of vice-president of the Association nationale des journalistes reporters photographes et cinéastes (ANJRPC) and was involved in defending photographers' copyright.
