Antique and imposing glazed faience apothecary jar, entirely handcrafted and hand-painted. The central image features a blue hare on a light glazed background, set among botanical elements. Central cartouche, clearly defined band with the pharmaceutical inscription in Gothic font "FD. Mulva". The bottom part presents a rich decoration with a sun-like sunflower in ochre yellow and motifs of scrolls and foliage.
Shape like a slender roller (bobbin), with a rough interior and base that show the original marks of the lathe and engobe.
This is a classic Faenza majolica, recognizable by its unmistakable traditional colors: the brilliance of the white glaze, the cobalt blue details, ochre yellow, and touches of green ramina. By type and workmanship, the dating is placed between the late 19th and early 20th century (circa 1890 - 1920).
The object is in excellent general condition, very solid and free of restorations.
On the neck: There is a single tiny glaze chip right at the blue thread (highlighted in the close-up photo number 11).
Dark area on the edge: The dark part seen on the upper rim is not a chip, but the original application/ firing of the color used at the time (to the touch it is completely smooth and intact).
