• Jean Ribière (1922- 1989)
• He began his career in 1940 in the photo department of the newspaper L'Indépendant des Pyrénées-Orientales.
• With his wife, journalist Micheline Vialle, he founded the Ribière Presse Photos agency, whose reports were published in numerous French and international media, such as Paris Match, L'Express, Keystone and the BBC.
• His work covers postwar France, daily life, regional traditions, sporting events and judicial reportages.
• He also served as vice-president of the Association Nationale des Journalistes Reporters Photographs et Cinéastes (ANJRPC) and was committed to defending photographers' copyright.
• At his death, he left a collection of about 120,000 photographic documents, today preserved and valued by his family)
