Description from the seller
Title: Beauty and the frogprince
Printed on 300g baryta Hahnemühle art paper. Delivered with a certificate of authenticity, signed and numbered.
Edition: 1/30
About this artwork:
There is something about the fairy tale of The Frog Prince that has always touched me.
Not because a frog turns into a prince, but because beauty can be found where you didn’t see it at first.
------------------------------------------------
Mariska spends a lot of time carefully constructing her sets, which also involves her other talents. She sketches with charcoal, works with gold, textiles, and is an excellent photo manipulator. All of her talents come together in every piece of work she creates.
Mariska primarily photographs women, including bold women in glamorous, mysterious, and beautiful settings, with soft skin tones and a touch of fantasy in a sensual atmosphere, combined with the sensitivity of the old masters. The women she photographs seem unaware of their surroundings but remain irresistibly dominant.
She photographs the human figure in human emotions. She speaks in a universal language we all understand, no matter where in this world we live in.
