About me:
I live and work in Berlin and Seoul.
I studied Fine Art at Kyungwon University (B.A., South Korea) as well as at HBK Braunschweig (Diplom, Germany).
My awards include the ZONTA Art Prize and a DAAD scholarship. My works have been exhibited at, among others, Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien (Berlin), Kunstverein Ludwigshafen, PORT25 Mannheim, EMERSON Gallery Berlin, Koenraad Bosman Museum, Kunsthaus Erfurt, Galerie Maurer (Frankfurt am Main), Kunstverein Pforzheim and Seongnam Arts Center (Seoul).

About the work:
This work is a conceptual object-based piece, inspired by Auguste Rodin’s "The Gates of Hell". Building on his exploration of human existence and inner conflicts, the piece themes the mutability of life.
It consists of 13 individual wooden elements that can be rearranged like a puzzle again and again. There is no fixed order and no final image.
The puzzle stands symbolically for human life: memories, encounters and external circumstances continually change us. Everyone assembles the pieces differently, thereby creating their own view of the whole.
The work began in 2008 as a paper piece and was realized in 2010 for my first solo exhibition as a three-dimensional wooden object.
Through the free arrangement of the individual elements, viewers themselves become part of the piece.
Condition:
Light, age-related signs of wear with patina. Stable and fully preserved.
Dimensions:
119 × 84 × 8 cm (with full arrangement, excluding frame)
