Rare Roth ceramic vase from the mid-century era in vivid yellow outlined with bubbling black lava glaze. This vase, also known as the 'checkered vase', is designed by Dorothea Roth. It was manufactured in the 1970s in West Germany by the ceramic factory ROTH and has model number 311. The vase features a beautiful modernist design and is hand-painted. These vases were produced in five colors, and the yellow color is rare. Only a limited number were produced in this color, which makes the vase highly collectible.

The vase is a truly iconic piece from the thick lava era of the 1970s and one of the prettiest examples of thick lava vases from Roth Keramik, West Germany.
