2 cuadros with humorous illustrations about swimming, weightlifting, table tennis... a work by the French cartoonist Claude Serré. The scenes are part of a broader collection of drawings dedicated to different sports themes that I found in an important gym in Barcelona, which hung in their corridors in commemoration of the Barcelona 92 Olympics and have remained there until today.
Line work is detailed in black and white or color with a humorous approach and the signature SERRÉ in uppercase on them. All three are framed in a period beech frame measuring 25.5 x 53 x 3.5 cm. They are exactly as I found them. Framed in a mat, each illustration that you see measures approximately 16 x 11 cm, and on the back there is a sheet of good weight with the letters DNP repeated. Very decorative.
Inside the color frame I found a surprise. There is another mat with three black-and-white images that can replace the one with images of wrestling, athletics and another of soccer, with a classic Barcelona - Español image. The text there is in Catalan and it looks like cutouts from a well-printed magazine.
