Intuition and Abstraction
Manuela Decker (born 1973) is a contemporary German painter who lives and works in Osnabrück. Self-taught, she has developed an unconventional, deeply emotional visual language that moves freely beyond academic constraints. Under the studio name Gallery M she presents her works to an international audience.

Artistic Profile & Style
Decker’s works are associated with Abstract Expressionism and modern informal art. At the center of her work is the process of letting go. Her large-format acrylic paintings often arise impulsively and intuitively—guided by moments, moods, and the dynamics of color itself.

Technique:
She preferentially works with acrylics, chalks, and texturing mixed techniques on canvas. The color application occurs in layers, sometimes boldly scraped, sometimes softly wiped or glazed. This gives her pictures a tactile depth.
Contrasts: A recurring motif is the play with extreme opposites. In series such as “Better in black,” she contrasts deep, dark areas with sudden, luminous color explosions or minimalist lines. Imperfect and raw elements are deliberately staged as aesthetic features.
Philosophy and Intent:
For Manuela Decker, art is an outlet for the unsayable. She does not want to force a fixed interpretation on the viewer but to offer room for personal associations and feelings.
