Manuela Decker – Intuition and Abstraction
Manuela Decker (born 1973) is a contemporary German painter who lives and works in Osnabrück. Self-taught, she has developed an unconventional, profoundly emotional visual language that moves freely of academic constraints. Under the studio name Gallery M, she presents her works to an international audience.

Artistic profile & style
Manuela Decker’s works are aligned with abstract expressionism and modern, informal art. At the center of her work is the process of letting go. Her large-format acrylic paintings often arise impulsively and intuitively—driven by snapshots, moods, and the dynamics of color itself.
* Technique: She predominantly works with acrylic paints, pastels, and texturing mixed techniques on canvas. The color application is layered, sometimes boldly spatulated, sometimes softly brushed or glazes. This gives her paintings a tangible depth.
* Contrasts: A recurring motif is the interplay of extreme opposites. In series such as “Better in black,” she contrasts deep, dark areas with sudden, luminous color explosions or minimalist lines. Imperfection and rawness are consciously staged as aesthetic elements.

Philosophy and intention
