It belongs to a series of drawings made for manus presse in his long collaboration with the Stuttgart gallery.

Old sheet, folded in half (like so many others the artist used for his preparatory sketches for the printing plates). We have considered it to be in "excellent condition" because the drawing was originally made on this paper.

Clowns without a homeland and Globetrotters without a destination, rising naked above humankind. Flâneurs and vagabonds translating, with sufficient detachment, the chaos of things, the Laocoön as an inscrutable symbol of destruction and death. In short, actors and compositions that inspire solitude, human characters, all too human, brimming with enigmatic and hieratic melancholy beneath a surprising and serene spectrum of warm and fiery colors forged in the partial detail of the line. Condé is a postmodern eclectic, who... "Remember that much was already said in Bosch or Brueghel, in Velázquez or Caravaggio.
