Description from the seller

A striking original vintage press photograph of a young Cassius Clay (later Muhammad Ali), pictured in boxing stance wearing a "Lonsdale London" training t-shirt, hand-wrapped fists raised, and Everlast shorts.
Provenance & markings (verso):
Stamped "COPYRIGHT P.A.-REUTER PHOTOS LTD., 85 Fleet Street, London, E.C.4" — the photo agency mark of Press Association-Reuter, a major UK wire service of the era
Date-stamped "30 MAY 1963", with a further library/archive stamp "25 AUG 2000" showing later re-cataloguing or reuse
Partial printed caption fragment reading "DOWN TO F...", likely from an original press caption slip (partially trimmed/lost)
Handwritten annotations in period ink/pencil: "Sp. Boxing – Name", a circled "38" (picture library reference number), and "P/e 12 Final" (page/edition notation), along with a noted image size
Handling/editorial creasing and a light diagonal crop-mark line, consistent with active newspaper picture-desk use of the period
The May 1963 date places this photograph around the time of Clay's build-up to his famous fight against Henry Cooper at Wembley Stadium (18 June 1963) — one of the most talked-about bouts of his early career and a defining moment in British boxing history.
