Romain Steppe was a Belgian artist born in Antwerp in 1859 and died in Antwerp in 1927. He was a painter.
Pupil of Van Hoorde, later of Boland and finally of Isidore Meyers.
Created among other things landscapes, but especially seascapes and marine views.
Realistic composition, impressionistic touch. Worked along the banks of the Scheldt, on the Belgian coast, in the Antwerp harbor, in the Limburg Kempen and later also in England, the Netherlands, Italy and France.
Subsequently settled back in Antwerp and exhibited there regularly from 1887.
Was a member of the Circle “Als Ik Kan” in Antwerp.
