Materials and construction
Wood: oak or light walnut, stained and varnished, with a beautiful visible grain.
Overall shape: slender vertical silhouette, of the “cartouche” or “trophy” type.
Upper part:
Crowning pediment shaped with volutes and acanthus leaves.
Small gallery with turned balusters.
Two fluted columns framing the thermometer.
Middle part: a carved knot in the shape of a twisted olive that forms the transition.
Lower part:
Large circular dial of the barometer.
Richly carved surround of acanthus leaves and symmetrical volutes ending in a lower point.

Thermometer (upper part)
Mercury tube with double scale.
Graduated enamel part (white enamel scale).
Graduations visible from about –10 °C to +50 °C.
Inscriptions: “THERMOMETER” and “CENTIGRADE.”
Aneroid barometer (lower part)
