Leonidas - Tachimetro base 100 - 1950-1959

Interesting vintage tachymetric chronometer built by Leonidas in Switzerland in the mid-1950s/60s approx.
Working, like new.
Despite its age, its overall preservation condition is excellent.
Stainless steel case, white porcelain dial, with black and red Arabic numerals.
Hands, original, blued. Very nice and clean mechanism. There is a small glass window containing spare parts.
This type of chronometer, base-100, was used to measure a vehicle’s average speed over a predefined distance.
Leonidas, known worldwide for the precision of its counters: military, sporting and scientific, merged with Heuer in 1960. Measurements: 5 cm diameter x 7 cm with bezel x 1.6 cm thick, weight 86 g.
