Spoon - Brass - 12th–14th century spoon

A fine example of a 12th- to 13th-century pap spoon that was given as a birth gift to a child. The spoon has a broad, flattened shaft that tapers toward the top and a typical rounded bowl from that period, with a maker’s mark on the upper part of the shaft, and is clearly hammered yellow copper. The spoon is in good condition and has a soil-toned color. The underside of the spoon shows wear and is missing a bit of the rim. Very rare piece. European Middle Ages.
