AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Eliza Kołodziej (b. 2000, Poland)
“Structure of Sunlight”, 2025
Oil on panel
10 × 15 cm (unframed)

This small landscape study explores the changing structure of light beneath a forest canopy. Painted in a local park, it focuses on the moment when sunlight breaks through the trees and transforms the woodland floor.

Expressive, textured brushstrokes build the dense grass, fallen leaves and undergrowth, allowing the surface of the paint to become part of the image itself. Bright yellow-greens gradually give way to rich browns, creating a natural transition between light and shadow while preserving the immediacy of the observation.

The painting captures a fleeting impression of sunlight as it disperses through the trees, turning an ordinary woodland scene into a study of texture, colour and atmosphere.

The painting will be shipped in secure, multi-layered packaging with an insured, tracked delivery and a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Seller's Story

I am Eliza Kołodziej, a Polish painter (b. 2000) and MFA graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where I completed my diploma with the highest distinction. I create oil paintings focused on urban spaces, often exploring moments of tension, emptiness and quiet unease – places that feel familiar but slightly off. My work is rooted in traditional painting techniques, with a strong attention to light, material and atmosphere. Alongside painting, I also work with textile and craft-based practices, which influence my sensitivity to structure and surface. My works have been exhibited in galleries such as Bacalarte Gallery and A10 Gallery, as well as in group exhibitions at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw. I am a recipient of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship and multiple Rector’s Scholarships for outstanding artistic achievement. All artworks offered here come directly from my studio. Each piece is original, carefully finished and shipped securely with a hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity.
