Box (2) - Wood - Two authentic Nederlan

1. Firma A. Zwaan Jr. – Enkhuizen
Large wooden seed chest with original painting for N.V. Zaadteelt en Zaadhandel v/h Firma A. Zwaan Jr., Enkhuizen. The front displays the well-known swan and mentions the branches in Rotterdam and Mechelen (Belgium). A characteristic advertising piece from Dutch seed trade of the first half of the 20th century.

2. Henkel’s Wasch- en Bleek-Soda
Original wooden transport chest with green advertising print for Henkel’s Wasch- en Bleek-Soda, imported by F. Ostermann & Co., Amsterdam. A fine example of early industrial packaging material.

Both chests are made of solid wood and in original, unrestored condition. They show normal signs of use appropriate to their age, including wear to the print, discoloration, cracks, old repairs and minor damage to the wood. It is precisely these traces that contribute to their authentic appearance.
