Welcome to the ONE-SELLER-AUCTION by Ecki Heuser, 5Uhr30.com (Cologne, Germany) on Catawiki - this time presenting a BEST-OF „GERMAN PHOTOBOOKS“.
The term avant-garde is used when an artist takes an innovative and experimental approach to one aspect of their art. The avant-garde in photography takes a critical stance towards existing aesthetic views.
It is important to understand that avant-garde refers to an artistic movement that challenges existing aesthetic norms and seeks new forms of expression.
Like always 5Uhr30.com guarantees detailed and accurate descriptions, 100% transport protection, 100% transport insurance and of course combined shipping - worldwide.
Ann und Jürgen Wilde, Cologne and Zuelpich, 2003.
Original half cloth portfolio with text booklet, loose plates and with slicpase. 236 x 300 mm. 64 black and white photographs on plates. Text in French, English and German.
Scarce reprint of one of the most expensive photobooks (as original) - in perfect condition.
Germaine Luise Krull was a photographer, political activist, and hotel owner. Her nationality has been categorized as German, French, and Dutch, but she spent years in Brazil, Republic of the Congo, Thailand, and India. Described as "an especially outspoken example" of a group of early 20th-century female photographers who "could lead lives free from convention", she is best known for photographically illustrated books such as her 1928 portfolio Métal.
