Maurizio Rapiti - Fuori dal Tempio (framed)

“Out of the Temple” is a Sketch/Study executed in oil on paper by Maurizio Rapiti.

Compared to the artist’s other subjects, this painting is not a reinterpretation copy of a famous work, but an original piece completely invented by Rapiti, which, in atmosphere and style, was inspired by the paintings of Symbolist painters. The work, done in oil on paper, is sold framed as seen in photo 3.

Biography:
Born in Sansepolcro in 1985, Maurizio Rapiti took his first steps into the art world in his father’s studio, a renowned copyist, collaborating with him on the creation of so-called “falsi d’autore” (forgeries by the masters). This training would form the basis of a path that gradually became more personal, focused on experimentation and the mixing of techniques but always with a figurative gaze.
Since 2017 Rapiti has returned to dedicating himself to past masterpieces, this time filtered through the lens of a maturity capable of turning them into tools to display his own personality. The formal care and the pursuit of aesthetic pleasure thus remain the foundation of works that, at first glance, seem to mock the sacred giants of classical painting, but on closer inspection reveal a critique, tinged with irony, of our times.

Rapiti has recently collaborated with the Milan-Cortein Winter Olympics, creating a work whose photo and the video of its realization were shared on the official Olympic social pages (@Olympics)

Over the years Rapiti has also had the chance to collaborate with institutions; on two occasions he created the posters for events of “Confindustria Cisambiente” and in 2021 he produced the image for the international Dante conference “A Great Excluded Among the Excluded.”

The artist has for several years been dedicated to poster art, posting prints of his works on the metal letterboxes of streets (see the last 5 photos).
