About Daniel Been (Rotterdam 1885–Baarn 1967)

Been received his training at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts. In addition to Rotterdam harbor scenes, he painted many flowers as well. With flowers from a shop around the corner he arranged bouquets in his studio. He produced not only oil paintings but also watercolors and pastel drawings. Been also worked as a colorist with very detailed work. These were sold by the Koch firm. Been was, as an acknowledged painter, a member of the circle 'The Rotterdammer'
