Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988) began his training in the specialty of artistic cabinetmaking at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school he had his first contact with disciplines such as carving, drawing, or modeling, and, more importantly, with workshop work.
Later he enrolled in the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Trades in Santiago de Compostela, where he studied what would later become his main discipline: sculpture. It is at this school that he already works with materials that would be basic in his work, such as steel or clay. Parallel, Porto continued his personal training and researched other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes, leaning toward the use of bronze and steel as the definitive materials for his works.

After this initial training phase, he decided to set up his studio on the banks of the Sarela river, very close to the place where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular theoretical and practical investigation of the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new proposals when communicating and narrating his story. Since then, this has been the usual tone of his works, adding complexity and depth to the whole of his work, with themes that touch both social issues and his personal experiences.
