Description from the seller
A0000001213
Exceptional and highly coveted vintage wristwatch from the prestigious Swiss manufacture Omega, dated approximately to the 1950s. This piece stands out as a living testament to the golden era of mechanical watchmaking, combining absolute luxury and technical excellence.
The case is made entirely of 18-karat solid gold, featuring elegant, well-proportioned lugs. The heart of this watch is its famous bumper automatic movement (hammer), an iconic movement in Omega history where the rotor does not spin 360 degrees, but rather bounces between two springs, providing that characteristic and charming vibration on the wrist.
Undoubtedly, the most captivating element of this piece is its original honeycomb-textured dial. This intricate guilloché finish has aged wonderfully, taking on a warm patina. On it rest the applied, faceted gold indices and the elegant Dauphine hands. At the 6 o’clock position sits the small seconds subdial, balancing the design perfectly.
Technical details of the piece:
- Item type: Vintage wristwatch.
- Case material: 18-karat solid gold.
- Dial: Honeycomb textured (honeycomb) with small seconds at 6.
- Movement: Mechanical automatic with hammer (Bumper).
- Condition: In excellent vintage conservation state. The solid gold case retains its shape and shows no deep dents, only micro-scratches typical of careful use over decades. The original dial shows a uniform and beautiful patina. The vintage case presents external wear on the edges, expected due to its age, but the interior is intact.
Accessories: Includes an exquisite original Omega presentation box in green (very rare to find nowadays). Supplied with a high-quality crocodile-embossed leather strap (not original from Omega).
