Description from the seller

BOLERO - The Morning Watch - Mixed media on canvas
Mixed media, Acrylic painting, Pigment ink · Hand-signed · 2026

The avenger has hung up the night. Sitting in the warm light of a neighborhood café, cloak draped over the back, he sips his iced coffee through a straw with the focus of a man who has nothing left to save before noon. In front of him, an untouched pastry awaits its turn.

Medium: mixed media: acrylic paint on pigment-ink print, matte varnish.
Varnish applied by hand, for color depth and lasting protection of the work.
Support: premium canvas stretched over a wooden frame, ready to hang.
Format: to be specified.
Signed by BOLERO · Galerie Labo Joconde / Atelier Joconde · certificate of authenticity provided.

BOLERO is one of the creations that brings together artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neorealism, pop, and lyrical figuration. Under the name BOLERO, the Atelier explores stylized nudity in the spirit of Mexican modernity: monochrome bodies in saturated flat tones, solid and sculptural forms, pure color backgrounds, a grave serenity of the faces.

BOLERO reinterprets the grammar of South American masters of volume — smooth, inflated modeling, rosy carnations, even light with no theatrical shadow — and turns it against the iconography of the modern hero. The mask remains, the double chin too. The entire charge of the painting lies in this gap: the overman’s gear worn by an everyday body, in a banal consumer setting that everyone recognizes. Neither caricature nor mockery — an ironic tenderness for the heroic figure rendered weary.

Each work is a unique piece.

Seller's Story
