Splendid and exceptional specimen of a vanity/makeup table mirror that is backlit and tilt-adjustable, produced in Germany in the 1970s by the renowned Allibert brand (Model/Order number: W 93–96). A true manifesto of Space Age design, characterized by the iconic two-tone structure in bright orange ABS plastic and cream white.
This lot represents an absolute rarity on the mid-century modern market as it retains its entire original period accessories: the illustrated cardboard box and the technical instruction sheet (with VDE and ÖVE safety marks).
Aesthetic and structural conditions:
ABS plastic: In perfect condition for its age. No cracks, filaments, breaks, or thermo distortions due to the warmth of the bulb. Tilt mechanism fluid and stable.
Mirror glass: The mirror is strictly original to the era. It shows natural oxidation of the silver layer (visible in photo). It was deliberately chosen NOT to replace the glass in order to preserve the historical integrity and originality of the collectible piece.
Original era electrical system, tested and perfectly functioning. The interior light turns on regularly, diffusing a pleasant soft illumination. Cable, plug, and switch intact.
