Vajrapani is one of the most important bodhisattvas in Tibetan and Mahayana Buddhism and is regarded as the protector of the Buddha and the embodiment of spiritual power and energy.
Key features:
Vajrapani literally means "he who holds the vajra" - the vajra is a ritual object symbolizing indestructible power
He is often depicted in an angry, dynamic stance with raised vajra.
He typically wears jewelry, a tiger skin, and has a third eye on his forehead
Symbolism and meaning:
Vajrapani represents the power of all Buddhas and protects against negative influences, obstacles and evil spirits.
The vajra he holds symbolizes both the indestructibility of diamond and the power of a lightning bolt - it represents spiritual power that pierces ignorance.
Three forms: Vajrapani appears in three main forms - peaceful, semi-wrathful and fully wrathful - with the wrathful form (with raised vajra and a blazing aura) being most common in Tibetan art.
The statue is in good used condition with signs of age. (See photos)
Very finely detailed.
Carefully packaged and insured shipping.
