Gien earthenware inkwell, France, late 19th century (around 1870–1890).

A model with a convex circular shape in fine earthenware with a blue-printed decoration enhanced by polychrome floral garlands, topped with a beautiful original crackled glaze. It is fitted with its brass lid, fully functional and complete with its inner well.

The base bears the mark of the Gien manufacture.

The piece is presented in very good overall condition, with no cracks, chips, or restorations.

Modèle de forme circulaire bombée en faïence fine à décor imprimé bleu agrémenté de guirlandes florales polychromes, recouvert d’un bel émail craquelé d’origine. Il est muni de son couvercle en laiton, entièrement fonctionnel et complet avec son godet intérieur. 

La base porte la marque de la manufacture de Gien.

L’ensemble est présenté dans un très bel état de conservation, aucun fêle ni éclat ni restauration.
