Description from the seller

A unique, rare Art Nouveau hanging lamp depicting a flying woman. The dynamic, airborne figure is characterized by beautiful classical anatomy and a finely modeled, flowing robe. With an outstretched arm, the figure holds a single suspended light point.

The sculpture is made of patinated zinc alloy with a deep dark brown finish, featuring subtle wear. The lamp is topped with an original period shade of matte, textured glass with a wavy edge. The embossed geometric pattern resembles honeycomb or pineapple, making it a classic example of French or German glassmaking craftsmanship from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century.

The main figure in zinc alloy and the glass shade are kept in good antique condition. The glass has no cracks, chips, or deep scratches. On the back of the figure there is the original mounting hole and a threaded hole for a screw, which clearly indicates the absence of wings on the nymph/Victoria (this defect was noted in the appraisal).

Early vintage installation, socket integrated with the suspension. The lamp is functional. Country of origin: France (most likely due to the Régule-style aesthetics).

Material: patinated zinc alloy – frosted glass.

Period: about 1900 (late 19th/early 20th century).

Please refer to the photos which are part of the description.

The package will be insured.

The figure/lamp is one of a kind.

Shade dimensions: about 10 x 29 cm.
