“UMBRAL DEL SILENCIO”
Acrylic painting - handmade - 2025
Ariansis Reyes Jordan (1991), born in Cuba, studied at the Carlos Enríquez Professional Academy of Plastic Arts, where he graduated in 2010 in the painting specialty. His academic training allowed him to develop a solid command of drawing and expand his practice into other contemporary manifestations such as conceptual art and object art.
With an active exhibition career, his work has been shown in salons and solo shows where he has earned multiple awards and mentions. Throughout his career, his pictorial proposal has achieved a mature international projection, itinerant. My artistic practice unfolds as an exercise in introspection and a self-referential visual diary. I use the human figure in motion not as a purely anatomical representation, but as a container of my own emotional states. Through a dramatic use of chiaroscuro and a palette of natural and muted tones, I seek for bodies to emerge from the shadows, inhabiting a space where light reveals the intimacy of feeling. My process goes beyond conventional acrylic painting; the canvas becomes a tactile support that I intervene with mixed media. By sewing threads directly onto the fabric and incorporating scraps of tulle and textiles, I transform the painting surface into a second skin. For me, the act of sewing is a symbolic gesture of union, memory and repair. Each stitch and each cloth veil trap the silence, inviting the viewer to an artistic experience where matter and emotion are indissolubly intertwined.
Shipping and packaging
The work is delivered signed by the artist, accompanied by its corresponding certificate of authenticity.
To ensure proper conservation during transport, the canvas will be shipped rolled and protected inside a high-strength professional cardboard tube.
The shipment will be made within a maximum of three business days from the confirmation of purchase. The final delivery time will depend on the chosen courier company and the destination.
