Universal Genève Monodate, a solid 18-karat gold case (750/1000) — a refined men's watch from the 1950s, produced by the historic Geneva manufacturer Universal Genève (1894), the same house that in the same years produced the legendary Polerouter and the Compax chronographs.

Why this specimen is special:

18k solid gold, not plated – case hallmarked with the official Swiss mark “Helvetia head” for 750 gold, clearly visible and legible on the case back, together with the Universal Genève logo and the Master Punch (“Poinçon de Maître”) of the case maker.
Original “pie-pan” dial – stepped construction with a recessed center, the same style made famous by the Omega Constellation of the era. Circular date window with a border, a rare detail compared to the more common square date windows.
Original patina, never refinished – the dial shows a beautiful warm patina in champagne/ivory tones, naturally developed over more than 70 years, highly sought after by collectors who value authenticity over restorations.
Movement caliber Universal Genève 267G – manual wind, 17 jewels, with central seconds hand and date. An in-house manufacture caliber, not a generic ebauche.
JUST SERVICED at a specialized watchmaking workshop – complete disassembly, cleaning, lubrication and verification of every component (see progress photo of the service: case, crystal, dial, movement and date wheel separated during the intervention).
1-year working guarantee included.
Conditions: the watch runs regularly. Signs of use consistent with age, natural patina of the dial as in the photo. Case in excellent condition for a piece over 70 years old.
