Description:
This is a rare historical photo documentary booklet published in July 1960 by the National Relief Association of Japan (Nihon Kokumin Kyuenkai). Titled "Koshite Tukurareta Muko no Joyaku" (How an Invalid Treaty Was Made), the publication documents the intense protests, political clashes, and civil demonstrations surrounding the 1960 revision of the US-Japan Security Treaty (Anpo Protests).
Featuring black-and-white photographs captured during frontline demonstrations, parliamentary confrontations, and police actions, this document serves as a significant primary visual source on post-war Japanese social history and political photojournalism.
Condition:
Fair condition. This is a vintage paper publication from 1960 with notable signs of age and historical use.
- Cover: Handwritten markings in pencil and ink on the top margin of the front cover. Visible age-related toning, heavy foxing, and staining across the cover.
- Spine / Binding: Stapled booklet binding. The metal staples are heavily rusted, causing distinct rust discoloration and rust transfer on the surrounding paper near the inner fold.
- Pages: Toning, prominent age staining, foxing, and minor corner creasing throughout. Internal pages remain fully intact and readable.
Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
The item will be securely packed for shipment.
