Description from the seller

Elegant fully patinated bronze sculpture, depicting a worker at work, in a dynamic and realistic pose.
The figure, 33 cm tall, is shown standing on a rectangular base (10.5 × 8 cm), with the left arm bent to hold an object and the right arm raised, originally probably intended to hold a work tool
the typical iconography of the construction worker of the early twentieth century.
The hollow base and the weight of about 2.03 kg confirm a high-quality artisanal lost-wax casting, probably made in Italy or France between the 1920s and 1950s.
The work belongs to the figurative trend that celebrates the dignity of manual labor, a theme widespread in realism and in Art Deco of the early twentieth century.
Material: Solid bronze, original patina.
Technique: Lost-wax casting, manual workmanship and final chiselling.
Era: Approximately 1930–1950.
Dimensions: Height 33 cm – base 10.5 × 8 cm.
Weight: 2.03 kg.
Condition: Excellent; the original tool in the right hand is missing (likely a trowel).
