Biography of the artist:

Marsillach Codony, Joaquim. Olot (Girona), 22 May 1905 – 17 July 1986. Painter.

He entered the School of Fine Arts in 1915, and from 1935, the Escola Superior de Paisatge, created in Olot by the Republican Generalitat, the leading advanced center for the study of landscape, closed in 1939, directed by Master Iu Pascual. But he considered himself a pupil of Galway and Mallol, painters who frequented the Olot area to paint its surroundings.

He worked in the religious imagery workshops of Olot, in El Arte Cristiano, and exhibited in galleries across the country his landscape paintings, which was his preferred subject, without neglecting some figure paintings and still lifes.
