Description from the seller
Title: Aureo Dream
Artist: M. Perone
Technique: Oil on panel
Dimensions: 40 x 30 cm
The work presents a composition with a strong scenic impact in which the female figure becomes the emotional focal point of the canvas. The woman is depicted in a languid and serene pose, with the face tilted back, lips parted and eyes closed, immersed in deep sleep or in a static reverie. The body softly emerges from a cascade of voluminous drapery that recall, in form, consistency and dynamism, the giant petals of a vibrant flower. This dense and enveloping structure creates a protective cocoon around the figure, blending human delicacy with an explosion of abstract nature.
The palette is absolutely dominated by a symphony of warm tones: cadmium yellows, bright gold, ochre and touches of orange, which give the entire painting a solar and radiant luminosity. The color contrast is skillfully managed through the diaphanous, soft pinkish complexion of the model, which stands out clearly against the intensity of the fabric. The light, of almost theatrical nature, chisels the face, the décolleté and the arm in the foreground, then slides along the folds of the dress to create deep and dramatic shadows in tones of burnt brown, amber and slight hints of moss green, giving three-dimensionality to the whole.
The artist M. Perone demonstrates notable mastery in alternating different painting registers, creating a fascinating stylistic dualism:
- Rendered with a classic, academic and blended brushstroke, which enhances sensuality, the softness of the skin and anatomical precision, particularly in the delicate modeling of the hands and features of the face.
- Treated with a post-impressionist approach and strongly material. The upper background reveals the use of thick and decisive spatula strokes, typical of impasto painting. This technique gives strong dynamism and sculptural tactility to the painterly surface, opposing the smoothness of the skin.
The work transmits a sense of enveloping warmth, quiet and luxurious abandonment. It is a celebration of dreamlike beauty, an image that invites the viewer to lose themselves in an intimate and luminous universe where the boundary between earthly rest and the dream world dissolves in the pure energy of the color yellow.
