Santo Antônio (2015) brings together two incompatible calendars. The festive pennant flags traditionally associated with the Feast of Saint Anthony on 13 June are made from original magazine pages published in May 1944, while the Second World War was still unfolding. The celebration appears before its appointed time, suspended between anticipation and uncertainty. Beneath a heavy, overcast sky, the town continues to prepare for the festivities, suggesting that everyday life persists even as history passes through its darkest moments. The work reflects on hope, ritual, and the quiet resilience of ordinary people who continue to celebrate, build, and dream in the shadow of conflict.
