CALIMA is one of the creations bringing together artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neorealism, pop and free figuration. Under the name CALIMA, the golden haze from the South, the Studio explores a Mediterranean and Latin vein, soaked in sun, faience and color in impasto.
CALIMA gathers images of women captured in sumptuous interiors, azulejos, embroidered textiles, flowers and fruit, where the woman dreams, reads or rests, accompanied by a companion animal. The throughline: a dialogue between post-impressionist and Fauvist heritage and a contemporary pop gaze, where the painting matter enhances and transfigures the printed image.
Each work is a unique piece.
