Description from the seller
The artist Wilfred Lang comes from an artistic family. He was born in 1954 in Shanghai, and he began painting watercolors as early as when he was seven. Over the years he learned from his father all traditional painting techniques.
Between 1972 and 1976 Wilfred attended art academies in both Shanghai and Hong Kong. Here he developed his contemporary body of work. Since 1977 Wilfred has traveled extensively. He lived alternately in Hawaii, Barcelona and Amsterdam. His art and artworks are seen in Europe, the United States and Asia.
Wilfred Lang made a name for himself as an artist mainly with his abstracted cityscapes. They are recognizable by the various acrylic layers and colored blocks created with bold brushstrokes. His other subjects include sailboats, flowers, and abstracts. His style is unique, and when you see his work, you immediately recognise it as a “Wilfred.” Wilfred is currently still living and working in Amsterdam.
