Description from the seller
2 decorative floral candlesticks with grapes, leaves and porcelain flowers – metal – Europe – 20th century
Object description
Decorative lot consisting of two different richly worked metal candlesticks, both executed with pronounced floral and naturalistic ornamentation.
The first candlestick has a warm brass/bronze color finish and stands on a round, richly decorated foot with foliate relief. From the central stem emerge several curved arms, decorated with grape clusters, grape leaves and flower-shaped elements. The organically formed stem and gracefully curved arms give this candlestick an elegant, almost botanical appearance.
The second candlestick has a dark patinated finish and a wider round foot with vertical relief structure. Around the central stem are several arms and levels with leaves, flowers and curling tendrils. Among the dark metal are various contrasting white floral ornaments added, giving the object a particularly decorative character.
Both candlesticks are richly built and clearly show different designs and finishes. They are offered together as a decorative lot of two pieces and do not form an identical pair.
