Description from the seller
Elegant 32 cm-high table clock in Louis XV / Rocaille style, made of gilded régule and enhanced by a central enamel ceramic panel with a polychrome floral motif.
The gilded dial features Roman numerals on white cartouches, a finely engraved decoration and beautifully worked hands. It clearly bears the mark Peter accompanied by three stars.
This mark corresponds to the Niedereschach_Rottweil Uhrenfabrik / Andreas Peter, German manufacture from Rottweil. The "Peter with three stars" mark was registered in 1935 for movements and parts of large clocks.
The case, richly molded with rocaille and foliage motifs, rests on four feet. The plate is adorned with a bouquet including a large rose and an iris.
Mechanical movement, manual winding. The clock is functional.
It shows signs of age and wear, notably patina and gilding wear, particularly on certain side parts. These elements are visible in the photographs and contribute to the antique character of the object; see the photos as they are an integral part of the description.
