Pair of World War I trench-art vases, made in France around 1917.

These commemorative brass objects are crafted from artillery shell casings (probably French 75 mm) hammered and chased by hand. The style, inspired by Art Nouveau, features raised floral motifs, a dotted butterfly, as well as the inscriptions engraved “1917” and “Souvenir”.

The large one measures: 29 x 8.5 x 8.5 cm
The small one measures: 22 x 9 x 9

Paire de vases en art des tranchées de la Première Guerre mondiale, réalisés en France vers 1917.

Ces objets commémoratifs en laiton sont façonnés à partir de douilles d'obus d'artillerie (probablement du 75 mm français) martelées et ciselées à la main. Le style, d'inspiration Art nouveau, présente des motifs floraux en relief, un papillon en pointillés, ainsi que les inscriptions gravées « 1917 » et « Souvenir ».
