Joost van den Vondel - Publius Virgilius Maroos werken - 1660

Publius Virgilius Maro's Works translated into Dutch verse by J v Vondel - Amsterdam, for the widow Abraham de Wees, 1660 - (28) 565 (3) pp - blind-stamped calfskin panel binding (in Cambridge style), wherein the front board is decorated with a border with fleurons at the corners and a darker, inlaid leather center panel. The spine is provided with five raised ribs and gold-stamped compartments with a red leather title shield.

Good. Some scuffs and abrasions on the corners and edges, right hinge somewhat brittle and open at the top to the first rib. Inner pages browned, here and there a spot, some tanning along the edges of several pages. Wormhole about the size of a pinhead in the lower margin from page 375 to page 408, then two wormholes to the end. Only a minor defect.
