Description from the seller

Title: Fragmented Face #91
Series: The 1000 Faces
Technique: Acrylic on canvas

This work presents a portrait of great formal elegance built from a geometric, neocubist language with strong visual synthesis. The composition is organized around a central vertical division that structures the face into two contrasted halves, establishing a delicate balance between symmetry and variation. On the left side, the skin resolves into a deep blue-gray tone and the eye appears closed, represented by a curved black shape that suggests introspection, serenity, and restraint. On the right side, the skin takes on a pale peach tone and is accompanied by an open blue eye, framed by an arched black eyebrow that adds greater expressive intensity to the gaze.

The hairstyle is one of the most distinctive elements of the work. The black hair unfolds in a large enveloping form, crowned by a rounded, asymmetrical volume at the top that gives the portrait character and sophistication. The nose is synthesized with straight, clean lines that reinforce the piece’s structural clarity, while the red lips, clearly defined and centered in the composition, act as a powerful chromatic accent that energizes the whole.

The figure extends into a stylized, elongated neck that descends into a garment of great geometric richness. The outfit combines broad color planes and clearly delineated graphic elements: a yellow zone with fine vertical lines on the left side, a large red plane on the right, and a central white-and-black construction that recalls a highly stylized collar and breastplate. These contrasts give the work a refined, contemporary, and decoratively strong aura.

The background is composed of four perfectly defined color quadrants: warm white in the upper-left, intense red in the upper-right, deep blue in the lower-left, and soft olive green in the lower-right. This block-organization reinforces the geometric character of the portrait and creates an atmosphere of visual balance. The combination of warm and cool tones generates a sophisticated and highly appealing chromatic vibration, while maintaining notable overall harmony.

The result is a distinguished painting that fuses portraiture and geometric abstraction with pristine compositional clarity. The boldness of the black lines, the clarity of the color planes, and the strength of its visual structure place the work within an aesthetic close to synthetic Cubism, geometric abstraction, and hard-edge. It is an ideal piece for collectors who value accessible contemporary art, as well as for those seeking a work with strong decorative, modern, and recognizable presence.

The canvas is carefully rolled and securely packaged in a sturdy tube for shipment.

Artistic Series:
The 1000 Faces is an evolving artistic project conceived as a collection in flux, designed both from its conceptual value and its projection in the contemporary art market. The series proposes the creation of 1000 original works, each unique, numbered, and linked to a single recognizable visual language, making the collection a solid and collectible body of work.

My artistic practice focuses on reinterpretation of the portrait through a geometric and contemporary approach. Each face is built with color planes, defined lines, and fragmented structures that generate compositions that are balanced yet dynamically altered. This tension between order and rupture grants each piece its own identity while maintaining coherence within the series.

The use of color is intentional and strategic: contrasts between warm and cool tones that provide visual strength and immediate appeal, qualities especially valued on platforms like Catawiki, where first impressions matter. The clean, modern, highly recognizable compositions facilitate integration into different spaces, private or professional.

From a collecting perspective, The 1000 Faces presents as a progressive acquisition opportunity. Each work is numbered (for example, #001 / 1000), reinforcing its limited character within the global project and adding long-term value. As the series grows, so does its relevance and coherence as a whole, increasing interest for collectors.

This project not only offers visually striking pieces, but also a clear and consistent narrative: an exploration of contemporary identity through repetition, variation, and formal synthesis. In an online sale context, these qualities allow positioning each work not only as a decorative piece but as part of an artistic project with vision, continuity, and potential for value appreciation.

The 1000 Faces is conceived to be collected, evolved, and established as a recognizable series within accessible contemporary art.
