Manuela Decker – Intuition and Abstraction
Manuela Decker (born 1973) is a contemporary German painter who lives and works in Osnabrück. As a self-taught artist, she has developed an unconventional, deeply emotional visual language that moves freely beyond academic constraints. Under the studio name Gallery M presents her works to an international audience.

Artistic Profile & Style
Decker’s works are associated with abstract expressionism and modern informal art. Central to her work is the process of letting go. Her large-format acrylic paintings often arise impulsively and intuitively—guided by moments, moods, and the dynamics of color itself.
* Technique: She prefers working with acrylic paints, pastels, and texturing mixed media on canvas. The application of color occurs in layers, sometimes boldly scraped, sometimes softly wiped or glazed, giving her images a tangible depth.
* Contrasts: A recurring motif is the play of extreme contrasts. In series such as “Better in Black,” she juxtaposes dark, deep areas with sudden, luminous color explosions or minimalist lines. The imperfect and raw are intentionally staged as aesthetic elements.

Philosophy and Intent
For Manuela Decker, art is an outlet for the inexpressible. She does not want to force a fixed interpretation on the viewer but to offer room for personal associations and feelings. Her art seeks dialogue with the subconscious.
